Forum for innovation and entrepreneurship hits Pingshan
    2017-11-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A FORUM featuring innovative and entrepreneurial operations from Shenzhen, Taiwan and Silicon Valley in the United States will be held tomorrow in Pingshan to strengthen communication and build cooperative platforms between the innovators and entrepreneurs representing these three geographic areas.

Concurrently, the sub-forum of the 2017 China Entrepreneurship Service Summit will also be held in Pingshan.

With support from the Pingshan District People’s Government, an organizing committee has been set up for the forumthat will focus on technological, industrial, financial and economic cooperation between innovators and start-ups in Shenzhen, Taiwan and Silicon Valley.

Another aim of the forum is to elevate Shenzhen’s role on the international stage in fields related to technological innovation.

In an era when innovation and entrepreneurship are strongly encouraged, ambitious young people from both Shenzhen and other areas are opting into the trend of starting their own businesses.

By the end of 2016, a total of 1,200 Taiwanese enterprises had settled in 53 cross-Strait innovation bases and incubators. Over 6,000 young people from Taiwan reportedly came to Shenzhen for internship opportunities. Thus, the forum will shed light on the state of innovation and entrepreneurship among Taiwanese youth and start-ups.

A good number of innovators, makers and investors from Shenzhen, Taiwan and the United States are invited to attend the forum. Other guests such as founders of technology media and a Taiwanese singer are also expected to attend.(Zhang Qian)

Time: 1-6 p.m., Nov. 17

Venue: 33 Jinniu Road West, next to the Yanziling Park, Pingshan, Shenzhen
