A COMMERCIAL cryptography testing firm funded by Pingshan District will be officially inaugurated at this year’s China Hi-Tech Fair, marking the establishment of the first third-party commercial cryptography testing trial base in China. Pingshan District invested 200 million yuan (US$30.14 million) in March towards establishing the company known as Dingxuan Commercial Cryptography Testing. The establishment of the company is regarded as an innovative strategy in the field of cryptography testing and is expected to make significant contributions towards cultivating Shenzhen’s industry of cryptography testing. The former director of the State Commercial Cryptography Testing Center, Li Dawei, was employed as the chairman of the board of the new company. The Pingshan-based company has its sights set on becoming a national-level cryptography testing institution with the support and guidance of the State’s authority. The base is currently undergoing construction and personnel training programs. It is expected to open to the public and take on testing missions from next March. Meanwhile, the company is also working on research projects in cryptography testing and other related industries. It will establish a committee of cryptography testing in China and collaborate with the Institute of Software of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to build research institutions for commercial cryptography testing as well as to incubate startups in this field. With the support of the district government, the company has already finished its initial work on the trial base, research institutions and national-level committee and aims to build a comprehensive ecological environment for the cryptography testing industry during its next phase.
