There are tons of great-looking video games coming out in 2017. Many of these are Western releases, but a huge number of fantastic titles are coming out of Japan also. In any case, here’s a list of three of all the best (or at least most important) video games currently announced for a 2017 release. ‘Arms’ “Arms” is perhaps both the most and least Nintendo-like game the company has ever made. It’s gloriously fun and with its mixtures of modes, option for motion controls and more serious online competition, has enough going on to satisfy casual Nintendo players and more dedicated fight fans. ‘Super Mario Odyssey’ “Super Mario Odyssey” is, in many ways, the greatest digital holiday you will ever take. Mario’s unique brand of nimble* athletics has never felt better, while the new ability to inhabit various creatures via his ghostly hat pal Cappy opens up a plethora of new possibilities. ‘Resident Evil 7: Biohazard’ A major change of pace for the “Resident Evil” franchise, “Biohazard” is a first-person horror game with little in the way of shooting guns, and lots of running away and hiding. It looks actually scary, too, and has a VR game mode. Vastly more intimate and earthy than the globe-trotting gunfest that “Resident Evil” had become, it is a success, providing a rich, atmospheric and reverent* chiller that is just silly enough to make sure we are all having fun. Other best games for 2017 include “Cuphead,”“Lone Echo,”“Destiny 2,”“What Remains of Edith Finch,” “Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus,”“Mario +Rabbids: Kingdom Battle,”“Persona 5,”“PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds,” “Horizon: Zero Dawn” and “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.”(SD-Agencies) |
