Chinese poet Yu Guangzhong dies at 90

Renowned Chinese poet Yu Guangzhong (L) communicates with students studying in Nanjing No.5 Senior High School, Yu’s alma mater, on Oct. 7, 2008. Yu died at the age of 90 Thursday morning, Taiwan’s Sun Yat-sen University announced. Born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province in 1928, Yu moved to Taiwan in 1949 with his parents. He is one of the best-known Chinese writers, literary critics and poets. His most famous poem “Nostalgia” vividly depicts the flesh and blood relations between people on both sides of the Taiwan Straits. China News Service
