State-protected turtle found injured

A staffer with the Coral Breeding Center of Shenzhen Research Institute of Guangdong Ocean University in Dapeng checks the physical condition of a State-protected turtle, which was found injured off a river in Nan’ao, Dapeng New Area, recently. The turtle had injuries on its front left leg and near its neck when it was found Jan. 2. It was taken to the coral center for treatment. The green turtle is 58-cm long and 40-cm wide and weighs 10 kg, shorter and lighter than a regular adult green turtle. The staffer said it is likely that the baby turtle was released back to nature by people. Li Bo
