School adds two ‘little academicians’
    2018-01-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

“I want to be a scientist when I grow up!” Many kids have harbored such a dream. At Kengzi Central Primary School in Pingshan New Area, there are a group of students who would be proud to boast the title “little academicians.”

A student research exhibition and exchange activity was held in Beijing in late December. More than 1,000 excellent contestants from all over the country signed up for the competition, vying to win the title of official “little academician” of the Chinese Youth Academy of Sciences.

Through an intensive aptitude test and an oral defense, five students from Kengzi Central Primary School have outshone their competitors by virtue of rich scientific knowledge, solid professional skills and witty statements.

Huang Xiya and Liu Yizheng were appointed little academicians of the Chinese Youth Academy of Sciences. Lai Jinxi was given the preparatory academician title, and Huang Zuchuan and Yang Zhiyu each won the researcher title.

It is noteworthy that the school has had three batches of students who have taken home these special honors for three consecutive years.
