A date with Luyu at SZ Book City

Chinese talk show host Chen Luyu, who is dubbed “China’s Oprah,” will sign autographs for her new book at Shenzhen Book City’s CBD Store.

The Chinese-language book, titled “Come Across,” features casual essays on her life.

The 47-year-old host is renowned for her TV talk show, “A Date With Luyu,” which has been airing on Phoenix TV since 2001. The show covers a wide range of issues, with interviewees ranging from Keenu Reeves, Wentworth Miller to Yao Ming. Chen has gone from interviewing celebrities to her current show where people from all walks of life get to share their story with a live audience of 300 and an online and TV viewing audience in the multi-millions. Some of her most memorable interviews include people who are HIV positive or homosexual lovers.

Time: 2 p.m., Jan. 28
