University adopts AI for test paper correction

A university in East China’s Zhejiang Province has introduced artificial intelligence (AI) to correct the test papers for its Chinese language course.

Eleven overseas students from six countries including Russia, Republic of Korea and Zambia sat the exam. Using different symbols, the AI corrector accurately marked for various errors, including redundancy, missing characters, incorrect selection and word order.

Heavy snow wreaks havoc in cities

Heavy snow and ice has continued to affect central and eastern parts of China over the weekend, causing economic losses, and cancellations and delays to flights and coaches.

At Huanghua International Airport in Changsha, capital of Central China’s Hunan Province, all inbound and outbound flights were halted yesterday morning as the runway was covered by ice up to 2 centimeters thick.

Police crack down on disturbing cartoons

Guangdong authorities closed a company making and translating subtitles for seemingly innocent cartoons, which actually contain scenes of a violent and sexual nature. Two offices of the Guangzhou Yinjun Trade Company were closed and all related videos were asked to be deleted, according to the office against pornographic and illegal publication in Guangdong.
