Dishonest charities

Charities and donors will receive rewards or disciplinary* action from up to 40 government departments based on their credit scores, according to a senior official from the Ministry of Civil Affairs.

Li Bo of the ministry’s bureau for social organization administration said several departments have signed a memorandum* to share the credit data of both charitable organizations and those who donate to them, and to mete out rewards and punishments accordingly.

Dogs on plane

China Southern Airlines has allowed free travel for service dogs. According to the airline on Monday, dog containers and food will also be transported free of charge.

“To take a service dog on flight, passengers need to submit medical proof, after which the ground staff will help the passengers and their dogs check in, pass through security and board the flight,” said Shi Jun of China Southern Airlines. Dogs have to wear muzzles* and leashes and should stay beside the feet of passengers they serve, the airline said.

C919 orders

The C919 large passenger aircraft has received 30 new orders from a domestic leasing company, taking total orders to 815.

Commercial Aircraft Corp. of China signed a purchase agreement with China Huarong Financial Leasing Co. for 30 C919 and 20 ARJ21 on Monday in Beijing. To date, C919 has gained 815 orders from 28 customers at home and abroad. ARJ21 orders have hit 453 from 21 customers.

Ferry services

Ferry services on the Qiongzhou Strait in South China’s Hainan Province resumed on Sunday after hours of suspension due to heavy fog, according to local authorities.

The fog lasted between on Saturday night and Sunday morning, triggering multiple suspensions of ferry services, local meteorology* and maritime departments said. Before the ferry services were resumed, nearly 8,000 cars carrying tens of thousands of passengers were still waiting at the ports to leave Hainan for Guangdong Province via the Qiongzhou Strait.
