LEADERS of 10 subdistricts in Futian District and 12 departments directly under the district government reported the progress they achieved in ecological civilization in 2017 at a meeting at Futian Hall on March 1.

Gao Shengyuan, head of Futian District and the district’s Ecological Civilization Construction Assessment Group, and Kuang Xiaohua, head of the Organization Department of the Futian District Committee of the CPC and vice chief of the assessment group, were all present at the meeting.

The assessment was Futian District’s first attempt at deepening green development in the new era. It includes evidence materials assessment and expert review. The judge panel was formed by 20 people including district lawmakers, political advisers, special advisers, eco-environment protection experts and resident representatives.

At the meeting, 22 subdistricts and departments were assessed, and among the 10 subdistricts, Fubao Subdistrict, Meilin Subdistrict and Lianhua Subdistrict were ranked the top three. Among the 12 departments directly under the district, Futian Bureau of Environmental Protection and Water Resources, Futian Development and Reform Bureau and Futian Education Bureau were ranked the top three.

Gao gave praise to the achievements made in terms of the district’s ecological protection and stressed the importance of the construction of an ecological civilization in the new era.

The achievements last year included innovation in the ecological protection mechanism and the improvement of water quality. (Chen Xiaochun)
