TO facilitate the 2035 Futian Medium- and Long-term Development Plan and create a better business environment, the 2018 Futian Industry Development Conference, themed “a new starting point for reform, the central urban area starts again,” was held at Wuzhou Guest House on Feb. 28. The Futian District Committee of the CPC and the Futian District Government have provided 5 plots of land for company headquarters, 500,000 square meters of government-owned buildings for industrial use, and 500,000 square meters of low-cost social space as a space carrier for attracting business and investment. At the same time, it released five new industry support policies regarding the professional service, supply chain, artificial intelligence, fashion industries, and provision of low-cost industrial land. As Shenzhen’s central-most urban area, in recent years Futian has stuck with deepened reform and quality-oriented and innovation-driven development, optimizing the industry ecosystem, improving its infrastructure, and creating a quality business environment. The outcome of these efforts has been the realization of high-quality economic development. Under the jurisdiction of Futian, there are a total of 135 super high-rise buildings and 78 buildings which contribute taxes of over 100 million yuan (US$15.8 billion). It’s home to 70 percent of the licensed financial headquarters institutions of the city, over 50 percent venture capital institutions of the city, and 60 percent security enterprise headquarters of the city. Among the six Shenzhen-based Fortune 500 Companies, three are based in Futian including China Merchants Bank, Ping An Insurance Group Company and Amer International Group. At the same time, the district is facilitating the incubation of quality enterprises and has helped cultivate 125 listed companies over the years. Since 2017, Futian has introduced 110 key projects with a total investment of 27.57 billion yuan. It has introduced a batch of top companies including Sino-Israeli Global Innovation Center, increased a total of 5,096 enterprises each worth over 10 million yuan and 630 enterprises each worth over 100 million yuan. Among the five plots of land for headquarters of companies, three are located in the CBD next to Civic Center and Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center with first-class supporting facilities nearby, and two are located in the Meilin Caitian area next to Bijia Mountain and Lianhua Hill Park.
