A CAR-SHARING platform called GoFun, which is operated by the Beijing-based tech company Shou Qi Group, has launched 100 new-energy cars in Shenzhen, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported Friday. According to GoFun, most of the 100 cars are located in residential areas and high-tech parks in Bao’an and Nanshan districts, and each car can travel 170 kilometers on a single charge at a maximum speed of 100 kilometers per hour. GoFun said it will launch more cars in Shenzhen, and about 1,000 cars are expected to come into service in the city by the end of the year. After paying a deposit of 699 yuan (US$111), users can rent the shared cars by paying 1 yuan per kilometer and 0.1 yuan per minute. Those with a score higher than 700 on Zhima Credit, an Alibaba-affiliated credit-scoring system, can use the cars without paying the deposit. Users in Shenzhen can buy a “night package” to use GoFun’s cars between 5:30 p.m. and 9:30 a.m. the next day. The package costs 39 yuan and users can drive as far as 50 kilometers. First-time registered users in Shenzhen can get a coupon to use the cars for three hours for only 1 yuan. After they use the coupon, they can use the cars for another five hours for free. GoFun’s COO Tan Yi said individuals and companies with license plates and vehicles are welcome to join GoFun to provide car-sharing services for residents in Shenzhen. (Zhang Yang) |
