Masaaki Kishibe’s live gig in A8
    2018-04-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Japanese acoustic guitarist Masaaki Kishibe will perform Sunday night at A8 Live.

Kishibe has studied under famed Japanese guitarist and composer Isato Nakagawa. He has learned a variety of different techniques, eventually composing his own music using the fingerstyle technique.

In the 1990s, Kishibe studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston in the United States and wrote and recorded his first record, “Truth,” to which he attempted to display his own personality through guitar composition and playing. The work included many pieces that are memorable and cherished by fans.

While Kishibe is widely known around Japan and other Asian countries, he was not particularly well known in the United States until performing at the 32nd Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield in 2003, taking second place overall in fingerstyle guitar.

Time: 7 p.m., April 8

Tickets: 300-580 yuan

Venue: A8 Live, 2/F, A8 Music Building, intersection of Binhai Boulevard and Keyuan Road, Nanshan District (南山区滨海大道与科园路交汇处A8音乐大厦二楼A8 Live)
