Truck violations

SHENZHEN surveillance cameras captured a total of 1,530 violations by truck drivers who failed to use their designated lane, the furthest to the right, Sunday, the first day of the rule’s implementation.

Among the monitored roads, Yueliangwan Boulevard saw most violations with 754 captured on the first day. Trucks are allowed to temporarily use the nearby lane to avoid roadside work or an accident.

Suicide attempts

FIVE people attempted to kill themselves in Shenzhen Bay between May 14 and Sunday, all of whom were female, according to the park management.

They were all saved by security guards or witnesses. The suicide attempts were caused by quarrels over trivial issues with family or friends.

The park reported a total of 14 suicide attempts in 2017.
