NEYMAR was back in training Tuesday to give Brazil a boost ahead of the World Cup. The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) forward has been sidelined since February after having surgery on his right foot but spent an hour training on the main pitch at Brazil’s Granja Comary training ground in Teresopolis, outside Rio de Janeiro. He was joined by Manchester City duo Gabriel Jesus and Danilo as he took part in drills, using his recovering foot to dribble through cones and shoot from long and close range. Neymar was cleared to take part in training after undergoing medical exams earlier Tuesday. Meanwhile, former Brazil international Rivaldo has again urged Neymar to leave PSG if he wants to win the Ballon d’Or and Champions League. “I think that going to Real Madrid, or to some club in England, I think he will have more chances of winning the Ballon d’Or,” Rivaldo told Sky Sports. “I mean no offense, but we know that the French league is not the same as the Spanish or English league, where there’s more difficulty. “I think he would have more chances to win the Champions League, so... when a player wins the Champions League, he has more chances of being the best in the world.” Goal.com also reported that Neymar is keen to force through a switch to Liga giant Real Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo has responded to the Neymar to Madrid transfer reports, insisting that he is used to the club being linked to the world’s top players. As revealed by Goal, Neymar has told PSG that he wants to make the move to Madrid in the summer, although the Ligue 1 champions will not allow their star man to leave without a fight. Neymar’s agent Pini Zahavi met with Madrid president Florentino Perez on May 13 before meeting with the 26-year-old forward’s lawyer a day later. (SD-Agencies) |
