“Legend is Back” All-Star Football Game Shenzhen

The 2018 “Legend is Back” All-Star Football Game Shenzhen: European Stars vs. World Stars United Football Team will blast off at Shenzhen’s Bao’an Stadium for the third stop of its China tour. Gabriel Batistuta, Francesco Totti, Paolo Maldini, Andriy Shevchenko and more than 30 world stars will ignite a football carnival June 10.

2018 China Open

The 2018 China Open will be held from May 29 to June 3 at Bao’an Gymnasium, with a total of US$346,000 in cash prizes. China’s national table tennis team will arrange for some of its best players, such as Ma Long, Fan Zhendong, Zhang Jike, Ding Ning, Liu Shiwen, Xu Xin, Lin Gaoyuan and Zhu Yulin, to participate in the tournament. More than 200 players from 37 countries and regions are expected to participate, including Dimitrij Ovtcharov and Timo Boll.

The China Open began in 1988 as a platinum event of the ITTF Pro Tour. It is one of the highest-level tournaments in the entire professional tour (total 12 tournaments around the world), with a championship score of 500 points. The tournament consists of five events — the men’s singles, women’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles — bringing together the world’s top table tennis athletes.

China League Two

Shenzhen Ledman F.C. will compete with Sichuan Jiuniu F.C. on May 26 and Nantong Zhiyun F.C. on June 9 at Bao’an Stadium. Shenzhen Ledman F.C. currently participates in the China League Two, the third tier of Chinese professional soccer clubs.

Alan Tam

Cantopop singer Alan Tam will bring a night of his greatest hits at Bao’an Stadium on June 16. At age 68, Tam played a major role in developing the Cantopop scene in the 1980s. Since the 1990s, he has served as a mentor for the cantopop music industry and today he regularly gives shows in China and various Chinese-language communities around the world. In 2007, he was the recipient of the 30th Hall of Fame Award from the Composers and Authors Society of Hong Kong (CASH) for his decades of contributions to the Hong Kong music industry. In 2008, Tam was elected president of the Hong Kong Performing Artistes Guild.
