    2018-05-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

BGI, the Shenzhen-based company focused on research and application of genomics, announced April 26 that it will take part in a global study named Earth BioGenome Project (EBP) as one of the co-initiators. BGI will take part in the project to help sequence, catalog, and characterize the genomes of all of Earth’s eukaryotic biodiversity over a period of 10 years.

BGI was founded in 1999 with the vision of using genomics to benefit mankind and has since become the largest genomic organization in the world. With a focus on research and applications in the health care, agriculture, conservation, and environmental fields, BGI has a proven track record of innovative, high-profile research, which has generated over 2,137 papers in publications such as Nature, Science and GigaScience.
