At the opening ceremony of the sports meeting, our class was chosen to be the team holding colorful flags. We were all very pleased to do this work.

At first, I thought we were lucky, because this work seemed to be so simple that we could finish it easily. We were just required to each hold a flag of a different color. However, a sense of loss bothered me when I saw other classes giving different kinds of performances that shone brilliantly at the opening ceremony.

Unexpectedly, our work was not as easy as I need thought. There were only two weeks for us to practice. During this time, all the classmates were trained strictly. We practiced walking, holding the flags and maintaining the same standing posture again and again. This experience made me realize that we cannot judge the difficulty only by the appearance of a job.

At the opening ceremony of the sports meeting, we were the first class to appear. When we went through the rostrum, we shouted out our slogan loudly before all of us walked through step by step, holding the different colorful flags. As we arrived at our specific place, we formed two lines and started running along the playground border. Finally, all of the classmates stood one by one, holding the flags and surrounding the whole playground. When the wind blew, our colorful flags flew, which formed a beautiful scene.

After that, other classes performed many brilliant shows, but we couldn’t see anything. What’s worse, we had to stand the whole time until the ceremony finished, which meant that we stood for three hours without any break!
