OCT Guangming Town

THE highly anticipated experience center at OCT Guangming Town was officially opened Tuesday. A number of new developments in the town’s overall planning were revealed at the opening ceremony.

It is reported that the center is not only a showroom, but will also host art exhibitions, forums and themed cultural activities.

OCT Guangming Town was jointly built by Guangming District and the OCT Group, with a total investment of 30 billion yuan (US$4.5 billion) and a total planning area of 11 square kilometers. The town includes a greenway that runs from north to south, a modern agricultural farm in the north, a theme park, an ecological town and a pastoral park in the center, and a sports park in the south.

Lost money found

A POLICE officer with the Huanggang Checkpoint Police Station helped three Hong Kong travelers retrieve US$10,000 and 7,000 euros (US$8213.8) Monday afternoon.

The three Hong Kong residents lost their money, which was in an environmentally friendly bag, after having a meal. They found the bag was missing as they were exiting the checkpoint, so they called the police. Fortunately, an officer named He Jian found the bag while patrolling and returned it to its owner in less than half an hour.

Heat wave alert

THE Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory issued a yellow alert for high temperatures yesterday morning. The maximum temperature Wednesday was forecast to rise above 35 degrees Celsius.

The observatory reminds residents to keep cool and avoid staying outdoors for a long time.

The weather will be cloudy with showers Thursday. The city will see showers and thundershowers from Friday to Monday, along with a drop in temperatures.
