SZU ranks fourth for admission score in GD
    2018-07-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN University (SZU) ranks fourth in Guangdong Province for this year’s admission score, according to a report on the university’s undergraduate enrollment that was announced Sunday, the Shenzhen Metropolis Daily reported.

The admission score is the lowest gaokao (National College Entrance Examinations) score achieved by students who have applied to the school after receiving their gaokao results. SZU’s ranking in Guangdong Province this year indicates that students with high gaokao scores have applied to enter the university.

According to the university’s report, among all the students who have applied for the humanities and social science majors at SZU, the lowest score is 583, while the lowest score is 569 among students who have applied for science and engineering subjects.

SZU plans to enroll 6,600 undergraduate students in 2018. It will also enroll another 800 undergraduates in the science and engineering subjects at its branch college in Pingshan.

According to the report released Sunday, 859 students from Shenzhen have enrolled.

A total of 30 top students from Guangdong have been selected to join the university’s scheme for cultivating innovative talents with scholarships provided.

Computer science and technology is the most popular major this year among applicants to the science and engineering majors, followed by software engineering. Other majors, such as architecture and finance, have also been well received.

Among students who have chosen to study the humanities and social sciences, economics and communication studies are the most popular majors.
