DAN STEVENS will join Harrison Ford in Fox’s “Call of the Wild” adaptation, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The Jack London classic book centered on a sled dog that survives the Alaskan wilderness, as well as a series of abusive owners. Ford is set to play Jack Thornton, a prospector looking for gold in the Yukon. Animation director Chris Sanders — co-helmer of “The Croods” and “How to Train Your Dragon” — is making his live-action debut with the feature, which will incorporate major CG elements. Logan screenwriter Michael Green adapted the novel for the screen. “Call of the Wild” is getting a Christmas 2019 release date. (SD-Agencies) |
