FIBA Stankovic Continental Champions’ Cup

The FIBA Stankovic Continental Champions’ Cup, nicknamed the Mini FIBA Basketball World Cup, is being held at Bao’an Sports Center.

It is an international basketball tournament for men’s national teams held annually by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).

The idea for the tournament came from Carl Men Ky Ching, president of FIBA and the purpose of the cup was to honor Serbian Borislav Stankovic, FIBA Secretary General Emeritus, for his significant contribution to the world of basketball.

Being the only Chinese president of the 28 International Sport Federations, Ching selected China as the host country for the cup.

The cup is organized to promote basketball in the host country and to provide an opportunity for the Chinese men’s national basketball team to compete with other top national teams from all around the world at the highest level.

Time: 4 p.m. (Finland vs. Tunisia), 7:30 p.m. (China vs. Croatia), Aug. 17

Tickets: 100-560 yuan

Venue: Bao’an Sports Center, 2112 Xinhu Road, Bao’an District (宝安区新湖路2112号宝安体育中心)

Metro: Line 1 to Bao’an Stadium Station (宝体站), Exit A
