Owners sign demolition agreements
    2018-08-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE owners of 51 buildings signed agreements Aug. 2, agreeing to demolish their buildings located near a major drinking water source.

Bao’an Party chief Yao Ren, head of the district government Guo Ziping, and vice head of the district Zhu Enping, witnessed the signing of the agreements in Jingbei area in Shiyan Subdistrict.

The district government has listed the demolition of the buildings in the first-level protection area for drinking water as one of its priorities in a bid to protect the drinking water source.

Some of the owners of the 51 buildings are native villagers.

Earlier on July 24, owners of 89 buildings in the Mabu area, Shiyan Subdistrict, signed agreements with the district government to demolish their buildings in exchange for compensation.

Bao’an’s action to protect the drinking water source will involve the demolition of 493 buildings covering 252,800 square meters. So far, 173 buildings have been demolished.
