A night of Estonian tunes
    2018-08-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Estonian National Opera Boys’ Choir will present a night of hymns and Estonian folk songs Sunday.

Founded in 1971, the choir plays its role as informal ambassador of Estonian music both at home and abroad to perfection, and its performance of mainstream classical music is rated at highest professional standard.

The choir has been received with acclaim not only in European countries but also in North America, Australia and Japan.

The boys have also sung in operas such as “Carmen,” “Tosca,” “Othello” and others. In 2003 the choir was awarded at the Choir Competition of Estonian Male Choir Association and Llangollen Choir Competition. The choir won two gold medals at the distinguished Olomounc International Choir Festival in 2005 in the Czech Republic.
