Musical association sets up base in Futian
    2018-09-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE opening ceremony of the China Musical Association’s Shenzhen base and the Futian District Musical Association was held Aug. 8 at the Music, Painting and Calligraphy Theme Pavilion of the Futian Culture Hall.

The first-ever city-level base to be approved by the China Musical Association dedicated to the promotion of the musical industry is located at the Futian Culture Hall. With the aim to support the development of theatrical musicals in Shenzhen, the base focuses on creating and introducing high-quality artistic material and innovative plays, and strengthening exchanges and cooperation between China and other countries.

“Futian District has been committed to the construction of public cultural services,” said Xiong Guoxiong, head of the Publicity Department of Futian District. “With this platform, Futian aims to deliver results on the creation, production, education, training and performance of musicals.”

Wang Daocheng, general secretary of the China Musical Association, will deliver a speech at Shenzhen Civic Center on Sept. 8, which will announce various upcoming events. The base and association are working together on the creation of its first original musical and plan to hold the China Musical Industry Summit in Shenzhen in October. (Nan Nan)
