FUTIAN is mapping out a new round of development plans to improve its ecosystem for technological innovation, in a bid to provide strong support for Shenzhen to become an innovative city of sustainable development. As advancing technological innovation is a highly prioritized task for the district, Futian will emphasize three key projects, including the construction of a Shenzhen-Hong Kong high-tech special zone, an enterprise incubator and an ecological zone for intellectual property rights (IPR) protection. The high-tech special zone, embodying Manhattan and Silicon Valley, is expected to attract high-end resources and talents by taking advantage of its favorable geographical position, industry positioning and relatively preferential policies. Focusing on the bio-pharmaceutical industry and intelligent hardware industry, the special zone will strive to introduce leading enterprises to create major industrial clusters with a sound industrial chain and a complete support system. The district plans to introduce cloud software projects to propel the development of software enterprises in Futian and promote the district’s “intelligent+” industry. Meanwhile, the introduction of strategic emerging industries such as the Internet, integrated circuits and new-generation communications technology is also aimed at helping Futian to become an industrial cluster for emerging industries and a demonstration plot featuring the integration of industry and urban development. Futian is also gearing up for the construction of an ecosystem for IPR protection. (Zhang Yu) |
