Snapchat has launched two new versions of Spectacles that feature a sleeker and more fashionable design. The social media giant last week unveiled the new Veronica and Nico styles of its second-generation Spectacles. They have all the upgraded features of Spectacles 2, which were released in April, but include polarized lenses* and a US$200 price tag. The original Spectacles sold for US$130, while the second-generation Spectacles cost US$150. Nico features square, modern lenses, while Veronica has oversized lenses to evoke a more glamorous feel. The built-in cameras are more hidden in the design, making it less obvious that you’re recording a video. The styles only come in black. Snapchat has also swapped out the traditional hard, yellow charging case for a soft, black case. They can record up to 70 videos or hundreds of photos on a single charge and are also water-resistant*, according to the firm. Users can record videos in both a square and circular format. Additionally, any recorded videos will be automatically saved to your phone. Snapchat says it will launch the Highlight Stories feature in the coming months using any footage recorded by Spectacles. “Highlight Stories will make it faster and easier to find your favorite moments and share them with friends after a full day of snapping,” the firm said. That comes after the firm began allowing users to export their videos recorded on Spectacles in a non-circular format, which makes it easier to share clips on other social media platforms.(SD-Agencies) |
