Phone smuggling

SHATOUJIAO Customs stopped a woman smuggling the latest iPhone, the XSMax, onto the mainland recently.

The woman hid two such mobile phones inside a folding umbrella and raised suspicions as she looked very nervous while crossing the border at Zhongying Street in Shatoujiao, Yantian District.

Illegal discharge

SHENZHEN, Dongguan and Huizhou environmental authorities launched a joint action against polluters along border rivers including the Maozhou River, Danshui River and Shima River.

Enterprises engaged in galvanization, surface oxidation, printing, dyeing, farming or manufacturing circuit boards, which could cause pollution, have been made subject to strict inspections.

Online records

SHENZHEN residents can now apply to check their personal exit-entry records online and receive a printed result from the police through the mail.

They also don’t need to provide glossy paper photos when applying for or renewing exit-entry documents, according to the exit-entry administration of the Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau.

Fatigued driving

AN e-cab driver, who is suspected of fatigued driving, will be held responsible for an accident that killed a bike rider on Fumin Road in Futian District recently.

Video footage showed the driver, who was carrying two passengers, was weary and drowsy, and closed his eyes for seconds several times as he drove along Fumin Road at 9:50 p.m. Sept. 19.
