AN unveiling ceremony for the official operation of five mini community fire stations was held in Hualin Community of Yuanlin Subdistrict on Sept. 13. At the same time, Futian public security subbureau formed the first firemen team for the mini fire stations. To improve its fire prevention and control capabilities, the district has been pushing forward the construction of mini community fire stations since August 2017. “The official operation of the mini community fire stations complements the insufficient emergency firefighting force, marking a new era of the district’s fire prevention and control work,” said Duan Tingjie, vice head of Futian District and director of Futian public security sub-bureau. The five community fire stations are directly under the command and dispatch system of the 110 command center of Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau, the fire prevention supervision brigade of Futian public security subbureau and local police stations. They are also included in the command and dispatch system of the Futian Brigade of the fire prevention branch of Shenzhen Municipal Public Security Bureau. The mini fire stations operate in three shifts per day. For every fire truck, five firefighters are on duty. Since June, the fire prevention supervision brigade of the Futian public security sub-bureau has been carrying out intensive training for the firefighters at the mini fire stations. “A mini community fire station is a rapid response unit for fire emergencies. We will make full use of the comprehensive effectiveness of the mini fire stations and make sure that we reach the requirement of “initiating the response within one minute, reaching the fire scene within three minutes and starting the fire control action within five minutes,” said Zheng Xinrong, head of the fire prevention supervision brigade of the Futian public security sub-bureau.
