FUTIAN District signed a cooperation memorandum Sept. 25 with Pu Cunxin, a well-known veteran Chinese actor who also has served as the chairman of China Theater Association since July 2015, making Pu the 16th celebrity from the sports and cultural fields to sign cooperation agreements with the Futian District government to promote Chinese folk art forms in the district. Besides his role as an actor, Pu is also the public face of a number of good causes: a national AIDS prevention campaign, the promotion of blood donations, and the fight against child trafficking. At the signing ceremony, Gao Shengyuan, head of Futian District, awarded a letter of appointment to Pu for his new post as a cultural advisor. As a signed artist, the 65-year-old will contribute his wisdom to Futian’s long-term cultural development. He will also invite his fellow performers and artists to bring high-quality shows to audiences in the district. Pu said he has given shows in Shenzhen many times in recent years and has sensed Futian’s strong determination and capabilities in developing the cultural sector. In his eyes, Shenzhen audiences have high taste for culture and art, which makes him feel honored to become a member of the signed cultural celebrities in Futian and motivates him to share his artistic works and understandings with audiences. After the signing ceremony, Pu held a special forum at which his old friends and actors Xiao Xiong and Wu Jing’an were invited to share their stories and memories about their acting careers with the audience.
