Saudi Arabia faced a growing chorus of incredulity* on Sunday over its belated explanation of how critic Jamal Khashoggi died inside its Istanbul consulate, as world powers demanded answers and the whereabouts* of his body.

Thousands of migrants take shelter in Mexico

Thousands of Central American migrants traveling together to enter the United States have hunkered* down in shelters in a southern Mexico city along its border with Guatemala, according to local officials.

The migrants pose a tough challenge to the Mexican Government’s pledge to stop the illegal travelers’ plans to press ahead to the U.S. border.

More than 5,100 migrants have been registered in three shelters in the Mexican border town of Ciudad Hidalgo, while another 2,000 camped out for the night in the town’s central square.

Rebels kill two health agents fighting Ebola

It is a dark day for everyone fighting the deadly Ebola outbreak after rebels shot and killed two medical agents with the Congolese army, Congo’s health minister announced on Saturday.

This appears to be the first time health workers have been killed by rebels in this outbreak, which is taking place in what has been compared to a war zone.

Mai Mai rebels surged from the forest and opened fire on the unarmed agents with the army’s rapid intervention medical unit at an entrance to Butembo city, the health ministry said.

Brazil’s Temer charged with corruption

Brazil’s federal police filed new charges against President Michel Temer on October 16, recommending he be put on trial for corruption, money laundering and criminal association for allegedly taking bribes to favor port management companies.

The investigation report was filed to the country’s top court. The report signed by investigator Cleyber Malta Lopes also argues that Temer’s assets should be frozen.

The charges also involve one of the president’s daughters, Maristela Temer, and two of his close aides.
