‘Shenzhen Literature’ settles in Xixiang Subdistrict
    2018-10-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE editorial office of “Shenzhen Literature” was officially inaugurated in Xixiang Subdistrict, Bao’an District, on Oct. 12, the Bao’an Daily reported.

Wang Gan, deputy editor of “Selected Stories,” Xie Youshun, vice chairman of Guangdong Writers’ Association and professor at Sun Yat-sen University, and Yu Aicheng, vice chairman of Shenzhen Writers’ Association, were invited to attend the inauguration ceremony.

They also shared their writing skills and experience with writers and literature lovers in the subdistrict.

In a lecture, Wang said “Selected Stories” has always been concerned about the development of introspective literary journals, and has also selected works from these journals.

He added that “Lingdingyang,” an introspective literary journal developed in Xixiang, has become a well-known domestic brand and that introspective literary journals in Shenzhen have jointly cultivated many grass-roots writers.

“It is not easy to create a literary atmosphere and form a genre in a certain place. Every time I come to Xixiang, I can feel the local people’s enthusiasm for literature,” said Xie Youshun.

Sponsored by the Shenzhen Literature Society, “Shenzhen Literature” was first published in 2015 with a focus on supporting local writers and their work. In view of the good literary resources in Xixiang Subdistrict, the Shenzhen Literature Society decided to set up an editorial office there.

Sun Xiangxue, editor-in-chief of “Shenzhen Literature,” said the journal will pay more attention to the cultivation of young Shenzhen writers in the future and present a multifarious array of unique local literature to its readers.
