Review on ‘Ready Player One’
    2018-10-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Nowadays, the topic “future” holds a wide appeal among both teenagers and adults. More and more stories and movies about the future emerge to cater for people’s interests.

In vacation, I was more than happy to see the movie “Ready Player One,” directed by Steven Allan Spielberg, a famous director.

The movie’s background design are fascinating. The actors and actresses are so skillful that all the characters are performed thoroughly and vividly.

The story took place in the year 2045. The awful atmosphere made people out of breath everywhere throughout the world. All their hopes were left on a VR game — OASIS. In the game, people would set foot on a harmonious, heavenly world.

Players and popular characters gathered here to achieve their dream of becoming “superstar” in OASIS.

On the game designer — James Halliday’s deathbed, an announcement was given, “The person who could pass three barriers and find the surprise which Halliday had buried in OASIS would have the right to control the virtual world.”

There are lots of ideas and truths hidden in this movie. What impressed me most was a word said by Halliday, “The reality is the only thing that’s real.” No matter how successful you are in the virtual world, it doesn’t reflect your real life.

The virtual world is only an imaginary world where you can’t literally spend all your life.

People who are obsessed with imagination fail to pay attention to one important thing that only exists in reality — “emotion,” which can never be replaced by any other treasures in the world.

As far as I am concerned, “Ready Player One” is a movie focusing on the future, but more importantly, it’s a movie calling on people to go back to the real life since it is the exclusive thing you need to devote all of your passion and time to.
