Vienna Boys Choir performs with local school choir
    2018-11-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

OVER 20 boys from the world-renowned Vienna Boys Choir (VBC) were joined by members of the Seven Colors Children’s Choir from Hongling Middle School at Shenzhen Grand Theater on Oct. 26 and presented to the audience a concert titled “Futian 2018 Voice of Angels — Vienna Boys’ Choir Concert.”

Conducted by Luiz de Godoy, the Vienna boys sang some classic Chinese pieces including “Green High Mountains” and “Let’s Paddle Together.” These children blew the audience away with their clear and beautiful voices.

After that, the two choirs sang songs including “I Love You, China” and “Coming Together to Sing” together, the climax of a beautiful concert.

According to Godoy, they have conducted in-depth communication with the Seven Colors Children’s Choir on master classes, hoping to build friendship between the children.

The Vienna Boys Choir originates from the choirs that performed at the royal court in Vienna, Austria from the 15th century. The modern-day versions are comprised of boys aged 10 to 14 who are selected to join the choir’s full-time training through worldwide auditions. Over the centuries, the choir has collaborated with many composers, including Heinrich Isaac, Hofhaimer, Biber, Fux, Caldara, Gluck, Salieri, Mozart, Franz Schubert and Bruckner.
