Lianhua Hill Glades Music Festival

Berlin Philharmonic’s Shenzhen concert will be held at Shenzhen Concert Hall at 8 p.m. Nov. 16, and will be aired live at the opening of the fifth Lianhua Hill Glades Music Festival. Audience members can scan the QR code below to claim free tickets. A total of 15,000 tickets will be given to music lovers.

Maya art

More than 200 relics of the Maya civilization are on display at the “Forces of Nature” exhibition in Shenzhen Museum. From eating corn mixed with chocolate toppings to performing hallucinogen enema rituals, the exhibition gives a glimpse into the lives of the ancient Mesoamerican rainforest people.

Movie scores by Hisaishi

Firefly symphony orchestra will present a night of movie scores composed by Joe Hisaishi.

Hisaishi is a Japanese composer and musical director known for over 100 film scores and solo albums dating back to 1981.

He has been associated with animator Hayao Miyazaki since 1984, having composed scores for all of his films, such as “Howl’s Moving Castle,” “Porco Rosso,” “Princess Mononoke,” “Kiki’s Delivery Service” and “Spirited Away.” He is also recognized for the soundtracks he has provided for film director Takeshi Kitano, such as “Summer.”

Time: 8 p.m., Nov. 18
