Metro depot

THE construction of Tianxin Depot, a maintenance center for trains on Metro Line 16, was officially launched recently.

The 29.2-km Line 16 will run through Longgang and Pingshan districts. It will have 24 stations when it is put into use in 2023. Work on the line has already started.

Metro train delays

A TRAIN delay caused by a mechanical failure was reported Thursday on Metro Line 1 from Airport East to Shenda Station.

The situation was aggravated by a passenger who manually unlocked an exit door, the Shenzhen Metro Group stated on its microblog Thursday. Trains on the line were affected.

Teacher recruitment

A WRITTEN exam to recruit primary and middle school teachers will be held this Sunday. Around 24,747 people will vie for 1,067 posts.

As the Nanshan Half Marathon will be held Sunday morning, police wish to remind those who are sitting for the examination to plan their routes accordingly and arrive at their examination venues early.

Traffic violations

A CITYWIDE action against illegal taxi services was launched Wednesday.

More than 1,300 law enforcement officers were dispatched to conduct inspections in 42 key areas, checking for violations such as illegally driving unlicensed vehicles, taxis, electric bikes and motorcycles.

By 6 p.m. Wednesday, law enforcement officers had handled 1,740 traffic violations of various kinds, according to the police authority.

Of the total violations, 27 were related to vehicles engaged in illegal operations and 367 were related to electric bikes or motorcycles engaged in illegally carrying people or commodities.
