In my opinion, it is important to learn English well. Firstly, it’s a requirement for job hunting because most of the well-paid jobs need you to understand English. What’s more, it is a compulsory course that everyone must learn. Last but not least, English is the most widely used language in the world, so it can help us in various aspects of our lives. Therefore, it’s quite crucial and often necessary to learn English well.

Regarding the first reason, almost every company requires a score of CET4 (or higher) for a job, so English could be essential for getting a good job. Moreover, as a compulsory course in school, if we don’t learn it well, we might not be admitted to a prestigious university. It’s even possible that we might not graduate on time!

Finally, language is the most direct way to communicate with others. If our English is good, we can understand what English speakers say and what we read without others’ help. What’s more, when we travel abroad, knowing English will help us communicate with the local people and not be embarrassed by the language barrier. Moreover, if our English is good, we can easily watch English films, listen to English songs and read classic books, becoming a worldly person. Finally, more and more scientific and technological products are in English, so in order to make Chinese science and technology continue to develop, we should learn English well.

All in all, English is an important tool for us. If we learn it well, it will benefit many aspects of our lives.
