Public service award PINGSHAN District recently won the China Rule of Law Government Award for creating a new mechanism for the application of public credit information in social credit construction. The award was initiated by China University of Political Science and Law. Under the new mechanism, enterprises in Pingshan District can complete the whole approval process, from application to the issuance of business licenses, on the public credit service platform. The public can access the system to check the business operation and activity information of enterprises. Fuel theft GUANGMING police recently seized three suspects of a criminal ring in neighboring Dongguan City that had stolen diesel from trucks that were parked on the roadside. They allegedly were involved in the theft of 5,000 liters of diesel. According to police, under cover of darkness, the suspects used pumps to siphon the trucks’ fuel into their containers, transported it to their storage at a scrap yard in Dongguan and sold it in Dongguan for 1-3 yuan (US$0.15-0.43) per liter lower than the market prices. Fugitive caught PAN MINGTAN, a fugitive from Shenzhen who allegedly committed homicide in Nanshan District in 2015, has been caught by police in Zhejiang Province. In a robbery in Nanshan District in October 2015, Pan killed the victim surnamed Li. On Oct. 30, Pan escaped as he was escorted by police officers to identify the crime scene. Police offered 200,000 yuan for clues that led to Pan’s arrest and the ministry issued a wanted notice nationwide in November. |
