Futian to build a green corridor
    2018-12-07  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A SPECIAL campaign aimed at managing and upgrading the water quality in Futian District, co-organized by Futian Bureau of Environmental Protection and Water Resources and Fubao Subdistrict Office, was launched at Yitian Community Culture Plaza in Fubao Subdistrict on Oct. 28.

The campaign reached out to eight schools and 12 communities to promote the relevant laws and regulations, including the environmental protection law and the water law, and call on every member of society to work together to create a beautiful ecosystem.

So far, Futian District has completed the transformation of the drainage network for separating rain and sewage water in a total of 755 housing estates this year, outperforming the task given by the city’s water management and quality upgrading office.

Moreover, the district’s household water quality project is being carried out in a stable manner. The district also continues to treat black and smelly water, further implementing the river chief system.

The pollution management of Xinzhou River was the first project of river improvement within the original Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. This year, the district plans to build a slow traffic system going from south to north, connecting the Meilin eco park, Lianhua Hill Park, Huanggang Park, and the eco park at the estuary of the Xinzhou River, creating a green corridor from the mountains to the sea.
