THE 20th China Hi-Tech Fair was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center from Nov. 14 to 18. Futian Pavilion, located at Hall 1, was donned with a modern design, the color white its dominant hue. Incorporating the design of the pavilion with elements from the Civic Center and Ping An Finance Center, the district highlighted the importance of being a finance center with a creative edge. Themed “Finance Center, Creation in Futian,” the Futian Pavilion covered an area of 224.5 square meters. More than 30 cutting-edge technological products from 17 high-tech companies ranging from artificial intelligence, electronic information and life health were on display. Highlighted products at the fair included an industry-leading intelligent traffic information platform developed by Shenzhen Fuyuan Information Technology Co., atmospheric environmental monitoring equipment and digital integration solutions developed by Shenzhen Cambri Co., and intelligent hardware including intelligent robots developed by Shenzhen Cityeasy Technology Co., one of China’s biggest civilian-use robot companies. Shenzhen Cityeasy Technology Co. has received a grant of 10 million yuan (US$1.63 million) from the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Commission. For this high-tech fair, it brought an array of intelligent robots. One of them is a smart learning robot, which helps kids with education. It’s said to be the first intelligent education robot in China equipped with K-12 synchronous classroom education and STEM kids programming, making it very attractive to parents and students. During the high-tech fair, Futian also held the finals of the 4th China Hardware Innovation and Maker Competition as well as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Technology and Innovation Forum. Covering an area of 80 square meters, a Consumer Electronics Exchange/Exhibition Center (CEEC) was also set up in the Futian Pavilion, with four representative enterprises presenting their new products. The CEEC aimed to further promote electronic products and provide a broader platform for tech companies in this field. Since 2017, Futian has beefed up its efforts in attracting business and investment and improving its technological innovation capabilities. By giving play to its advantages in industrial space resources and setting up special fund policies for industry development, the district has introduced cutting-edge technology and innovation resources from both home and abroad. It has introduced 10 high-end research and development institutes including renowned domestic universities, privately-run nonprofit units, research institutes co-launched by universities and enterprises and other innovative resources from Hong Kong and the mainland. It covers new-generation information technology, big data, fintech and other key technologies.
