WALKING down a path of fresh rose petals to meet your prince may be many a lover’s dream. The new Futian District Marriage Registration Office opened Nov. 26. The first marriage registration office in the city to be located inside a park is making that romantic dream come true for couples. The office is dubbed the city’s most beautiful marriage registration office.

Beside a fish pond and litchi forest, the marriage registration office has both a Chinese-style auditorium and a Western-style auditorium. The Chinese-style auditorium is symmetrical in design, a special feature unique to ancient Chinese buildings. The red steel ropes outside the building symbolize the silken cords that the god of marriage uses for uniting all predestined couples in Chinese mythology.(SD News)
