HUNDREDS of guests attended the Third Daci Anniversary Celebration Dinner at Kingkey Oriental Regent Hotel Shenzhen on Friday.

The first charity organization in China’s tourism industry, Daci Tourism Charity Foundation is committed to improving the professional ethics of the tourism industry. Since its establishment, a total of 3,470,485 yuan (US$502,969) has been raised and 24,783 people have benefited from it.

The foundation calls on tourism practitioners to participate in charity, education, health care, respect for the elderly, helping the disabled and alleviating poverty. It has become an influential platform for charity in the tourism industry.

To help left-behind children reunite with their parents working in Shenzhen, the foundation offered free flights to some children in January 2018. Other events, such as blood donations and accident insurance for tourism guides, were also held to serve the tourism industry.

The foundation has donated six rural clinics in Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province and Dali, Yunnan Province, as well as language rehabilitation equipment to Shenzhen Huayang Special Children Rehabilitation Center.

The foundation actively participates in government poverty-alleviation projects. Daci donated cultural and sports goods to primary schools and kindergartens in Hechi City, Guangxi, and donated 100 sets of desks and chairs to primary schools in Xinjiang.

Many tourism companies also made generous donations that night. The calligraphy work, “Boundless Love,” donated by Hong Kong artist and philanthropist Choi Ching-fung,  fetched 38,000 yuan.

The celebration raised nearly 600,000 yuan Friday night.
