A RECORD 41,000 contestants from all over the world will attend the 2018 Shenzhen Bao’an International Marathon on Dec. 30.

The routes for the full and half marathons are similar to last year’s event. Runners will start at the south gate of the district government office compound and run down Bao’an Boulevard before returning to the starting point.

More than 6,700 runners have registered for the 42.2-kilometer full-length marathon, with 27,560 geared up for the 21.1-kilometer half marathon and 6,948 in the 5-kilometer Carnival Happy Run that will end at the south square of Bao’an Stadium.

The number of runners in this year’s race is the highest since 2016, when the annual marathon was inaugurated. Among them, more than 24,000 are from Shenzhen and 76 are foreigners, according to the organizers.(SD News)
