燃烧我的卡路里
    2018-12-24  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Meaning:

“燃烧” means to “burn,” “我的” means “my,” and “卡路里” is a transliteration of the English word “calorie.” This catch phrase, translated as “burn my calories,” is a line from girlband Rocket Girls 101’s song “Calories.” The song appeared in the Chinese comedy “Hello, Mr. Billionaire.” This line has been widely quoted by Chinese netizens and was chosen as one of top 10 most popular online catch phrases for 2018 because it was sung by Yang Chaoyue, a very popular member of the girlband.

Example:

A: 今晚有空一起吃饭吗?

Jīnwǎn yǒukòng yīqǐ chīfàn ma?

How about dinner together?

B: 改天吧。我准备少吃点然后去公园跑步,燃烧我的卡路里。

Gǎitiān ba。Wǒ zhǔnbèi shǎo chī diǎn ránhòu qù gōngyuán pǎobù,ránshāo wǒ de kǎlùlǐ。

Rain check. I plan to eat some snacks and then go jogging in the park, to burn my calories.
