Futian District reaches a milestone in reform
    2019-01-04  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SINCE 2018, when Futian’s reform plan was officially launched, the district has taken the lead in conducting various programs in many key areas, such as supply-side structure, business environment, public service and grassroots governance, many of which have achieved significant results, Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

The district has taken advantage of technologies to make government decisions more scientific, social management more detailed and public service more efficient. This smart method has been praised by the State Council.

A guidance on deepening reform of the owner committee and property management mechanism was unveiled in the district at the beginning of 2018. One important idea mentioned was handling community issues through the Party. As of today, 10 subdistricts have established 414 Party branches in different communities, playing an important role in this regard.

Additionally, Futian District conducted pilot projects in urban villages to regulate tenancy. Until present, it has provided 504 housing units for talents and a total of 2,000 apartments are expected to be available for long-term leasing.

In terms of public services, the district has introduced brand services to nursing homes. The district has also built several canteens for the elderly, one of which is able to provide food for the whole district, while the other 14 canteens serve communities.

Moreover, as of the third quarter of 2018, the district had helped 19,500 elderly people get a free health check.

Many of the district’s cultural innovations have also been affirmed by relevant departments and their superiors. (Wang Jingli)
