SEVENTY-SIX paintings and calligraphic works created in the 20th century by masters like Xu Beihong, He Xiangning, Li Xiongcai and Guan Liang were exhibited at Shenzhen Museum.

The pieces are part of the museum’s collection, some of which were donated by Guangdong seal-cutting master and calligrapher Shang Chengzuo. According to Guo Xuelie, deputy director of Shenzhen Museum, Shang donated 530 paintings, calligraphic works, seal works and objects from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and the 20th century.

The exhibition also showcased works donated by masters Wu Guanzhong, Qi Gong, Lu Yanshao and Zhu Qizhan.

Meanwhile, a total of 169 relics from the Tang Dynasty (618-907) are on display at “The Brilliant and Great Tang Dynasty” exhibition at the museum until April 7.
