Construction starts on smart innovation town
    2019-01-18  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CONSTRUCTION of a new park for the smart innovation industry in Bao’an District kicked off Dec. 27, 2018, in a solid step by the district towards the goal of becoming a highland of smart innovation industry.

The Taohuayuan Smart Innovation Town, covering around 900,000 square meters, includes the existing Taohuayuan Science and Technology Innovation Park and its surrounding areas and is adjacent to Tiegang Reservoir and Pingluanshan Park.

Aiming to become the core of innovation in Bao’an, the town will be built into a high-end new-type experimental zone with AI and biomedicine as its pillar industries. It will highlight the transformation of scientific and technological innovation achievements. It will also serve a test site for innovative technologies, such as driverless buses and intelligent traffic control systems.

The town is expected to become operational at the end of 2021.

The Taohuayuan Science and Technology Innovation Park has been serving as a key incubator for high-tech industries in the district since it was put into service in 2002. It is home to more than seven listed companies and 5,500 patent rights. At present, it houses more than 80 technology firms with a total of more than 2,000 employees.

After 40 years of development, Bao’an has gradually become a highland for high-end and intelligent manufacturing, innovative enterprises and globally influential talents, according to its official website. There are 3,030 State-level high-tech enterprises in the district, the most of any district in Guangdong Province.(SD News)

He said an action plan for the prevention and control of water pollution must be advanced to ensure the safety of drinking water, and that black and odorous water should rarely be seen in cities.(SD News)
