THE international office of Shenzhen Technology University (SZTU) was inaugurated at the Techbase Innovation Industry Center in Gegensburg, Germany, last week.
Techbase is an innovation incubation center under R-Tech, a service agency supported by the Gegensburg government to promote innovative development among enterprises.
As SZTU’s first overseas office, it is tasked with promoting cooperation and exchanges between SZTU and universities, research institutes and enterprises in Germany, as well as expanding cooperation projects and promoting exchanges between teachers and students.
The office is managed by Siegfried Schrammel, an engineer at Regensburg University of Applied Sciences, who once worked at SZTU and is assisted by three of the university’s students as volunteers.
Dieter Daminger, vice mayor of Gegensburg, expressed his full support for the establishment of the office and his hope that deeper and wider cooperation will be developed through the office.
Ruan Shuangchen, president of SZTU, said at the inaugural ceremony that, three years since the university’s establishment, it had developed cooperation relationships with 36 overseas universities. The establishment of the office is a milestone in the university’s international strategy and lays the foundation for the university’s international cooperation.
The office, though only 25 square meters in size, will serve as a bridge for the exchanges between SZTU and Gegensburg, said Ruan. |
