Ruth Bader Ginsburg minifigure joins ‘The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part’
    2019-01-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE 85-year-old Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, will enter the world of “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part,” with the blessing of Notorious RBG herself.

The photo proof comes by way of USA Today, which states the figure will make her debut in a new teaser for the film airing this Sunday.

“These movies are so full of surprises. And we were thinking, ‘Who’s the last person you would think to see in a LEGO film as a minifig?’ Ruth Bader Ginsburg!,” director Mike Mitchell told the publication. “And we’re all huge fans. It made us laugh to think of having her enter this world.”

According to Mitchell, the filmmakers reached out to her office to ask permission to use her image. “She said, ‘Of course, I’d love to be a Lego figure. That would be cool,’” Mitchell said.

This also means we’ll be getting an official RBG LEGO figure from the film’s LEGO sets.

In “The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part,” two siblings are playing with their LEGO play sets, prompting a battle between Bricksburg and aliens from the Systar System, which is ruled by Tiffany Haddish’s Queen Watevra Wa’Nabi. Ginsburg’s figure is said to make an appearance within the little sister’s realm.

When Wyldstyle (Elizabeth Banks) is kidnapped, Master Builder Emmett (Chris Pratt) and his brick buds set out on a mission to confront these foes.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller returned to produce and write the feature, which will bow in theaters Feb. 8.
