Held by Fuxin Community and Shenzhen Scarlett Translation, the event, which had more than 50 people in attendance, opened with a joyful dance performed by residents from the community and also featured an expat singing two songs. Three expats gave lectures at the event. Both Chinese and expat participants discussed many topics, such as how expats can improve their lives in China with the help of useful apps, how to maintain an active lifestyle and how to protect the environment by using clean energy. Attendants enjoyed learning how to make dumplings and sat for a dinner party. “I enjoyed learning about other people’s experiences in China,” said American Jason Stine. Italian Massimiliano Pintus got to know more about the Spring Festival, and he thought the event also offered a great opportunity for Chinese people to learn about Italian culture. |
